Southern Kitchen is a custom Knoxville website design that I created to help them to market their services. This was a complete redesign from the ground up, as I completely updated their website system to feature a custom slider on the home page using jQuery, a custom image gallery using Ajax, and a custom popup contact form, enabling customers to contact them for more information about their services.
The site is mainly white, with specific color accents, because the main focus is on the beautiful kitchen designs, and the images that the user will see when they are browsing the site. Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ is integrated within the site, so that visitors can show appreciation for Southern Kitchen’s designs. It also enables Southern Kitchen to market specials and events through Twitter and Facebook, expanding their marketing capabilities.
Some of Southern Kitchen’s features are a custom slider on the homepage, that pauses when moused over, a custom image gallery that has a preview bar at the bottom of the screen, and a custom popup contact form. The slider can have as many slides and links as needed, and enables Southern Kitchen to keep visitors updated on important events and sales. Their custom image gallery showcases their beautiful work, and is large, emphasizing the quality and detail of each custom-designed kitchen. The gallery also loads quickly, and allows the user to zoom in, removing the preview bar at the bottom of the screen. The contact form pops up over the existing page, and allows the user to enter their contact information. They can submit the form, without having the page refresh. They also stay on the same page, so they never lose their place in viewing the site.
